Agragati selected 30 women marginalized producers from different SHGs as beneficiaries of the project. They have been producing poultry from 2011 and linked with Patarwar Gramin Poultry Swabalambi Sahakarita Samity Ltd..  Each poultry shed (unit) has capacity 400 numbers of chicks, the labour charges and others materials support came from beneficiaries. One supervisor has been appointed and trained for supervising and coordinating the poultry activities. The beneficiaries are linked with PSSSL for input supply and marketing. All the units are running properly.

During the year the poultry rearers were more benefitted from their poultry sheds. Now the poultry rearers have become more capable to look-after their sheds. They are well equipped to manage their sheds. In near future the sheds will be run on a sustainable mode. Then no handholding will be required to purchase of feed, vaccine, medicine etc.

Cucumber and Bitter gourd Cultivation”

Supporting Donor-V.B.Net
Operating area- Gola Block of Ramgarh

During the year Agragati Jharkhand has implemented an agriculture related activity at Maganpur, Sosokhurd and Kustagarha villages in Gola block area with the technical support of VB.Net. Under this programme community resource persons (CRP) have been trained by the technical expert of VB, Net. After receiving training the CRPs selected interested farmers and trained them. The objective of the programme was to capacitate the farmers for producing cucumber and bitter gourd  in pre-season, so that they can earn additional profit Generally the farmers of these areas habituated to produce cucumber and bitter gourd in season. In the seasonal time they do not get the right  price. Even some time they had to sell  their products at a price less then their cost of production. We have changed their mind set as well as techniques. After training the farmers agreed to germinate their seeds in a warm place ( ie. In straw/assess/ rice assess/ dry cow dung/ etc). After germination they transplant the germinated seeds in a Polly pack. The Polly pack are placed in dry & sunny t places so that the growth of the plants are faster & proper.. Before end of winter season the samplings were transplanted in the field. By using  this technique the farmers are getting cucumber and bitter gourd before beginning of the season. In early season, the rate of these types of vegetables are very high. Hence  the farmers could increase their income to some extent.
