“ Yam Cultivation”
Supporting
Donor-V.B.Net
Operating
area- Gola Block of Ramgarh
In this financial year Agragati
Jharkhand implemented an experimental project for producing yam at Kustagarha
and Korambey villages in Gola block area with the technical support of VB.Net.
Under this programme community resource persons (CRP) have been trained by the
technical experts of VB, Net. After receiving training the CRPs selected
interested farmers and trained them. After training the farmers procured
Gagandra variety of seed from market.
APOP has been developed and the farmers followed POP. Generally the farmers are
producing yam of local varieties and they use large volume of seeds and even
they sowing the seeds without maintaining required distance, as a result the
production of yam were low and sizes of yam were also small. After using this
type of seeds & techniques and
following of POP the farmers are getting more production compare to previous years.

Name
of the project-“ Machan Culture Vegetable Production”
Operating
area- Gola Block of Ramgarh
This year Agragati introduced improved and advanced techniques of ‘machan
culture vegetable production’ with the support of VB.Net. The technical
training and guidance provided by the technical expert of VB.Net. During the
year Agragati capacitated 4 number of farmers and demonstrated 4 unit of machan at Sosokala, Kustagarha,
Maganpur and Hisimdag villages under Gola block. The purpose was to introduce
improved and advanced techniques to the farmers in local areas. Generally
farmers are growing cucumber, bitter gourd, louki, jhingi vegetables during
rainy season without any support to the plant though some farmers are using
branches of trees but not in proper way. As a result the production of such
types of vegetables are very less and not of good quality. So they are not getting
right price and a large volume of products are wasted due to heavy rain and
water logging.
After introducing these types of
improved and advanced techniques the farmers growing quality products and getting better price. They are also
producing vegetables in short time using inter cropping under ‘machan’.

“Vermin Compost Production”
Operating
area- Gola Block of Ramgarh
Agragati Jharkhand unit have
trained the SHG members to produce vermin compost manure .The aim was to produce
bio-fertilizer for the sustainable agricultural development. As a result of
these types of training the SHG members have become interested to produce vermin
compost manure with their own initiatives. Firstly they decided to construct of
17 numbers of vermin compost pits. For this purpose they raised some money from
their own SHG Groups and subsequently they demanded some portion of money from
Agragati to complete the vermin compost pits and also demanded Bidder warm from others. Agragati fulfilled
their demand.
Now they are producing vermin
composit manure on their own. Agragati supported the laboratory testing of the
products and ensuring the right combination of chemicals and biometrics composition
of the products and also help then to establish a brand name. The brand name is “DHARTI”. This
brand will be registered very soon.
The vermin compost growers using
the products in their own agricultural field and they are demonstrating the
