Agragati Jharkhand launched a pilot project of Potato Seeds production in Rabi season with the support of ICCO,The Netherlands through Vikas Bazar.Net . at Sosokhurd, Sosokala, Hisimdag, Kustagarha, Korambey, Maganpur, Sarlakala, villages in Gola block and Bayang, Bangasori, Birhonen and Sikni villages in Dulmi Block of Ramgarh district. In 2012, the first year of the project, Agragati selected 154 interested progressive farmers for producing Potato Seeds Production locally to fulfill the local demand. Initially 6 varieties of potato seeds introduced in 2300 decimal of land where 1852.2 quintal of seeds were shown and production of 1191.02 quintal was achieved. Out of this 865.5 quintal of potato seeds kept in cold store for further replication in next year. Rest of the potato which were found not suitable to replicate in next year was sold in the market. The entire production was of good quality and as a result could get better price and generate more profit.

The project was continued during 2013 also and a total number of 339 potato seeds producers linked with this Potato Seeds Production Programme. This year Chip Sona, Lady Resota,Ashoka, and Kanchan variteies of seeds were shown in their field. They applied POP which is guided by Agragati as well as V.B.Net. The beneficiaries were provided seeds in subsidised rate, technical support, critical imputes support and handholding support given by the organization.

After harvesting some non replicable seeds sold in the market directly by the farmers ,some portion of the products consumed by the farmers. And the 89 quintal of LR variety stored in cold storage in Gola cold store.
